After a series of mysterious airplane crashes a witness reports an aerial attack by a plane marked with black X. Henry Goering then invites the suspects, all war aviators, to his mansion under the pretense of patrolling the air lanes but he is hoping his ace pilot Jerry Blackwood and psychiatrist Dr. Norris can uncover the identity of the mysterious  Pilot X! 66 minutes.

Tailspin Tommy and his sidekick Skeeter Milligan are training young fliers for the new sky patrol that will oppose smugglers in the region. Carter Meade is one such rainier and also the son of the Colonel heading the Sky Patrol but he hasn't the stomach for guns or killing. Tommy helps Carter pass his flying trails but when Carter disappears after encountering a suspicious plane Tommy feels responsible and must set out to catch the smugglers and learn Carter’s fate. 58 minutes
