This month we start with two stand out foreign silent films including the 1913 THE STUDENT OF PRAGUE this early German horror film is directed by Stellan Rye and stars Paul Wegener. Next we have Sergei Eisenstein's acclaimed propaganda film BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN. Then we have Douglas Fairbanks and Constance Talmadge in THE MATRIMANIAC, a lighthearted romantic comedy about a pair of lovers' hilarious attempt to elope. Finally its D.W. Griffith directs W.C. Fields and Carol Dempster in the comedy SALLY OF THE SAWDUST. For sound films we begin with Frank Buck's BRING 'EM BACK ALIVE, see the famed naturalist gathering wild animals from Malayan jungles. Then we have ARKANSAS JUDGE a small town drama starring the musical Weaver Brothers and Elviry who are joined by co-stat Roy Rogers. Finally the ever entertaining Gene Autry in a double feature including BOOTS AND SADDLES + ROOTIN' TOOTIN' RHYTHM, loots of action, laughs and music in these two fun westerns!

THE STUDENT OF PRAGUE (1913)
Stellan Rye directs Paul Wegener, John Gottowt and Grete Berger in this early German horror film. A student deals with a mysterious stranger for a fortune in gold, but he doesn't anticipate the true cost of this dark bargain.

THE MATRIMANIAC (1916)
Paul Powell directs Douglas Fairbanks and Constance Talmadge in this light-hearted romantic comedy! Also includes a 1917 short that Triangle made using footage exclusively cut from this feature. A interesting curiosity indeed.

BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN (1925)
Sergei Eisenstein's much acclaimed propaganda film in which he pioneered the use montage. A dramatized telling of the 1905 mutiny aboard the Russian battleship Potemkin which leads to the sailors becoming heroes to Odessa.

SALLY OF THE SAWDUST (1925)
D.W. Griffith directs Carol Dempster, and W.C. Fields in this comedy about a circus performer and his ward. A shrewd trickster is seeking the best future for his young ward but doubts her stern grandfather is good for anyone..


SOUND DVDs

ABRING 'EM BACK ALIVE (1932)
Celebrated naturalist Frank Buck narrates and stars in this expedition film to the Malayan jungles where he works to capture rare animals. Includes several staged animal fights that are not for the faint of heart.

A GENE AUTRY DOUBLE FEATURE
Gene Autry in two exciting westerns full of action, music and laughs! BOOTS AND SADDLES & ROOTIN’ TOOTIN’ RHYTHM. With co-stars Smiley Burnette, Judith Allen and Armida.

ARKANSAS JUDGE (1941)
The Weaver Brothers and Elviry are joined in this dramatic outing by Roy Rogers! A small town drama about the damage gossip and slander can cause. With a dash of music added from the Weavers and Roy Rogers.
