Be sure to read below for more details and links to the individual products on our website but here is a quick overview: Our silent DVDs this month include A TALE OF TWO CITIES with both the 1911 short and the 1917 feature which stars William Farnum, LON CHANEY FILMS & FRAGMENTS which includes three complete shorts and surviving fragments from three otherwise lost shorts featuring the talented Chaney, then a Clara Kimball Young double feature including MID-CHANNEL & STRAIGHT FROM PARIS and lastly a Theda Bara double feature with A FOOL THERE WAS & THE UNCHASTENED WOMAN. For sound DVDs we have a western double feature with the very rare star Lane Chandler in GUNS FOR HIRE & THE OUTLAW TAMER, then its Donald Cook and Judith Allen in the fun drama BEWARE OF LADIES and finally its the feature version of the early Republic serial THE VIGILANTES ARE COMING starring Robert Livingston.


SILENT DVDs

A TALE OF TWO CITIES (1911 & 1917)
The two earliest film adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. The 1911 short is directed by William Humphrey and stars  Maurice Costello,  Florence Turner & Charles Kent. The 1917 feature is directed by Frank Lloyd and stars William Farnum and Jewel Carmen.

LON CHANEY FILMS & FRAGMENTS (1914-1922)
This Lon Chaney collection includes three complete shorts: BY THE SUN'S RAYS, THE OUBLIETTE & THE LIGHT OF FAITH, the surviving fragments from The Millionaire Paupers, The Miracle Man, The Gift Supreme, and also two early trailers for THE SHOCK & THE BIG CITY.

MID-CHANNEL / STRAIGHT FROM PARIS
A Clara Kimball Young double feature with MID-CHANNEL (1920) co-staring J. Frank Glendon & Edward Kimball (Clara's father) plus STRAIGHT FROM PARIS (1921) which co-stars Bertram Grassby, William P. Carleton. Both films are directed by Harry Garson.

A FOOL THERE WAS / UNCHASTENED WOMAN
A double feature with femme fatale Theda Bara, one of cinema earliest sex symbols. A FOOL THERE WAS (1915) co-stars Edward José and is directed by Frank Powell. THE UNCHASTENED WOMAN (1925) is directed by James Young and co-stars Wyndham Standing.


SOUND DVDs

GUNS FOR HIRE & THE OUTLAW TAMER
Rare western star Lane Chandler in GUNS FOR HIRE learns that he may just have to fight a friend! Then in THE OUTLAW TAMER, being hunted by the law won't to stop this cowboy from chasing the town's real villain!

BEWARE OF LADIES (1936)
Donald Cook, Judith Allen and George Meeker star in this drama about a spunky newswoman working to help an honest and straightforward lawyer hoping to win the election against the current crooked District Attorney.

THE VIGILANTES ARE COMING (1936)
The feature version of this early republic serial, starring Robert Livingston & Fred Kohler, has the masked hero known as The Eagle opposing a despotic general who wants to claim the California frontier as his own personal domain!
