Decorated soldier Conrad Warrener returns home feeling world-weary, like he no longer fits in the life he left behind and so, longing for the joys of simpler times, he begins to quest through the memories of his youth, seeking the happiness he has lost. His quest leads him to old childhood friends and boyhood loves from long ago, yet always the bitter lesson is clear: the past and his youth are gone.
