Roger Norman, a British veteran of World War I, board with civilian
life, enlists in the Greek Army. As a lieutenant, he meets Jania,
a local girl whom he rescues from a burning house. Roger's commanding
officer attacks Jania and then dies accidentally in a fight with Roger.
The two escape and are captured by bandits who force Roger to cooperate
with them.
